Welcome to my first newsletter where we get to connect on what’s new and tap into your brilliant minds to see what direction to focus my memoir.

A quick update from me–

Book sales are moving along. I will be at the Christopher West event sponsored by the Theology of the Body office in Phoenix on April 3 at the Orpheum Theater. We will be there to learn and sell my book, Cloud of Witnesses . Tickets are available soon on the Diocese of Phx website.

Love Shows Up Marriage Retreat was a huge success. Over 110 couples attended the inspiring day at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. It was an honor to have worked behind the scenes to benefit so many marriages.

Have you ever enjoyed an Afternoon Tea, English style? I’ve been practicing my ‘mad kitchen skills’ in preparing these beautiful taste experiences. There are only 2 dates left at Holy Spirit Tempe, March 15 in honor of St. Joseph and April 26th in honor of St. Faustina. Lots of rave reviews. Two down and two to go. It’s been challenging my old brain coming up with interesting menus including last minute gf or vegan requests. Yikes!

This brings me to sharing a little recipe for you to try out for St. Patrick’s Day…or sooner, if you can’t wait.

IRISH CREAM KRISPIE BARS

Make rice krispie treats as usual with these little changes. Use large marshmallows to melt with the butter, and small marshmallows to add to the dry cereal to add extra marshmallow-ness. Once the butter mallow mixture is melted, turn off the heat and add 1/2 C of Bailey’s Irish Cream. It will bubble up for joy. Pour this into a big bowl filled with the dry cereal and small marshmallows. Stir well to coat. Turn into a greased 9×13′ pan. Before pressing, sprinkle with 1 C of mini chocolate chips. Press into the bottom and sides using a piece of plastic wrap that has been sprayed with non-stick pan spray. Let cool, slice and serve.

You’re welcome! They went pretty fast at the retreat too.

Finally, I would love to know your thoughts on where to press forward on my memoir. I have started several versions with multiple chapters yet feel the need to back up or jump forward to ‘splain things better.
So, your input is requested below please.

Excited to see what you come up with on your memoir! I love a good laugh from a life lesson. Especially something you can laugh at or smile at now but not during. With age comes knowledge and great stories I can’t wait to hear/read

Barb I love reading all your handiwork. I can always use reminders to not be so hard on myself when it comes to being “mom the fun-sucker”. Can’t wait to read more – keep up the amazing job you’re already doing!

Your voice is authentic and powerful, so I’m interested in reading whatever you , and I especially like the humor you are able to insert.
