My Mission

My blog was born of my natural tendency to process life through writing. I find depth and clarity in putting pen to paper and fingers to keyboard. God continually uses this method to guide me deeper into the discovery of truth. His brilliant plan invites us all to assist others via our own transformative experiences, through my humble words.

My Story

I had just completed an online Bible class on Women in Scripture in 2008. The creator of the series asked if I ever considered writing online, and would I consider submitting an article for a new site called, Today’s Catholic Woman. At the time I was a busy mom of five teens, working full-time as a youth minister and preparing to bring teens to World Youth Day in Australia. Yet, I was greatly compelled to try to offer something. “Sunday SideShow” was my story of taking the kids to Mass solo while my husband was out of town working. The unexpected antics, predictable stares, and internal dynamics of such a wild adventure poured out into paragraphs.

The day before we left for Sydney, Australia, I submitted the story. A week into our WYD pilgrimage I got the chance to locate an internet cafe to check my email to see if there was a response. I nervously prepared myself for the rejection I assumed I would get. Never having any formal training in writing, I prepared for the worst. The router noisily dialed up the internet and I opened my account and there it was. “Loved the story. Keep writing and submitting work.”

God knew the plans He had for me and how He would use the persons and situations in my life to awaken the stories within. In doing so, He has allowed me to cooperate in His creative work and together we encourage and inspire others through them.
