I know what it feels like to lose a baby through a miscarriage. Not once, but twice. I understand the crushing pain of infertility for years. I, too, have grandbabies that I hope to someday meet in Heaven, who were also miscarried.
Even though I never met my own babies or grandbabies, their brief lives were irreplaceable.
Today, after Mass, I noticed several friendly faces from my previous parish. We worked together firmly establishing a pro-life mindset there. They gathered to pray and walk the mile to Aid to Women Center, next door to Planned Parenthood.
I was unaware of the planned walk.
My friends asked, “Will you walk with us this morning?” How could I say, “No?” What could possibly warrant more importance than taking an hour to walk alongside these amazing warriors for life on a beautiful rainy morning and stand up for those whose voices are so tragically silenced?
So, we walked and prayed together in solidarity for the innocent.
Because that is the least I could do.
There are lies perpetuated at nauseating intervals that fill the airways and social media about the right to abortion. Why is something so obviously a woman and child in crisis being used to further an agenda by taking front and center stage of our national election? Instead of extending real help to them, they offer an illusion that terminates a life.
What is going on America? We’ve let ourselves be distracted from what is right, good, and beneficial for our nation, and all of her citizens, born and unborn.
Abortion rights should NOT be our primary focus. Don’t be fooled.
Has the “Greatest Nation on Earth” been reduced to attacking its own unborn citizen rather than protecting them?
But you say it’s not that simple.
But it is.
This is a dangerous precedent that is already creeping into other areas—a fatal toxin.
I beg you, please. Ignore the rhetoric, detach from party lines, and ask yourself, is there a national benefit to killing its most vulnerable? No. If you say overpopulation, then you’ve been duped yet again.
Eliminating children instead of finding healthy solutions for mom and baby is not the answer. They are precious resources and better remedies exist.
I get it; you’re confused and hearing conflicting messages. You think you are helping someone in crisis by making it all go away and voting for “women’s reproductive rights.”
We cannot kill our future and still think we’ll have one.
Listen and remember this one clear message:
Jesus Christ is greater than your greatest difficulty, your worst nightmare or your unexpected pregnancy. At those times in our life, no matter how far away we might be from our Lord, He is never far away from us. He is but a whisper away or a desperate cry of your heart for help. Never be afraid to call on Him. You are loved beyond your choices. You are precious to Him.
Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of America, pray for us.
Excellent!!
That was a beautiful and poignant reflection, Barb. And I’m so happy you and Mark were able to walk with us yesterday. May our witness have touched at least one cold heart.
Amen to that
Barb, your reflection was so poignant, so beautifully and bravely articulated from your heart, that I could not help but think that we each have a critical and unique responsibility to heed Our Lady of Fatima’s call to pray the rosary together and offer reparations for our sins and those of the whole world. Only as a united Body of Christ will we be able to combat the evil one and his minions who are relentlessly spreading their lies and deceitful narratives in our country about the precious value of a human life. Thank you for being such a clear and much-needed voice of no-nonsense wisdom and Christian compassion so needed in this time of confusion and indifference in our country.
Thank you, so kindly Bethann. You are right. Together in the Body of Christ united with our Mother there is power to change hearts and minds. To clear up the muddiness and confusion. Blessings my friend
